The next evolution of performance wearables is nearly here, and all signs point to the upcoming launch of Whoop 5.0. While official details are scarce, Reddit is buzzing with user speculation, insider leaks, and hopeful feature wishlists.
Let’s break down what we expect from the Whoop 5.0—plus, what it could mean for your Whoop 4.0 replacement bands.
When Will the Whoop 5.0 Be Released?
The Whoop 4.0 launched in September 2021, and since then, the wearable space has evolved rapidly. If Whoop wants to stay ahead of competitors like Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin Fenix, a release in late 2025 or early 2026 would make perfect sense.
On Reddit, users are speculating that internal testing is already underway. Alleged screenshots of Whoop 5.0 bands on their site also has people buzzing.
Predicted Features for Whoop 5.0
🔴 Blood Sugar Monitoring
We’re keeping a close eye on wearable tech advancements, and non-invasive glucose tracking is the holy grail. If Whoop 5.0 cracks it—or partners with a sensor company—it could redefine how athletes manage metabolism and diet.
💓 Atrial Fibrillation Alerts (AFib)
Expect deeper cardiac insights. A smart AFib detection feature based on high-fidelity HRV and ECG sensors seems within reach for Whoop’s focus on proactive health.
🌬️ Pulse Oximeter
The 4.0 skipped oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking, but in today’s post-pandemic landscape, it’s practically standard. It would also strengthen sleep and respiratory insights.
🧠 Stress & Cognitive Load Metrics
Recovery isn’t just physical. We wouldn’t be surprised if Whoop 5.0 introduces mental strain scoring or burnout indicators, using signals from HRV, temperature, and sleep disruptions.
📳 Enhanced Safety & Haptic Feedback
Whoop’s minimalist interface has its fans, but there’s room for smart additions—like fall detection, inactivity prompts, or SOS signals.
Will Whoop 4.0 Bands Work with Whoop 5.0?
That’s the big question.
Whoop hasn’t said anything publicly about band compatibility—but we have our suspicions. Not long ago, our listing for Whoop 4.0 replacement bands was removed from Amazon after years of being live without issue. It wasn’t performance complaints. It wasn’t customer confusion. It was because Whoop asked Amazon to pull it, citing their patent.
So why now?
The timing makes us think they’re planning to reuse the same band attachment system on the Whoop 5.0. It would be the smart move—keeping 4.0 bands and Whoop strap band replacements usable with the 5.0 would make adoption smoother for existing users.
A Note on Our Bands (Before They’re Gone)
Unfortunately, if Whoop 5.0 uses a different connector or locking mechanism, we will not be releasing Whoop 5.0 bands.
Whoop has made it clear they don’t want third-party providers offering strap alternatives.(at least to us, many other brands are untouched nor contacted) Out of respect, we’ve agreed to cease production and sales of our Whoop replacement bands once current inventory runs out.
So if you’ve been thinking about grabbing a backup band for your 4.0—this is your last chance. We will not restock.
Final Thoughts
The Whoop 5.0 will likely represent a major leap forward—whether it’s through glucose tracking, AFib alerts, or smarter recovery features. But if you’re using a 4.0 now, the window to grab a high-quality Whoop strap band replacement is closing fast.
We're here for the ride—right up until the finish line.
